1And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,Log in to add notes

2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.Log in to add notes

3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.Log in to add notes

4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.Log in to add notes

8And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.Log in to add notes

9But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:Log in to add notes

10Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.Log in to add notes

29The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.Log in to add notes

1And he began to speak unto them by parables. A certain man planted a vineyard, and set an hedge about it, and digged a place for the winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country.Log in to add notes

2And at the season he sent to the husbandmen a servant, that he might receive from the husbandmen of the fruit of the vineyard.Log in to add notes

3And they caught him, and beat him, and sent him away empty.Log in to add notes

4And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.Log in to add notes

5And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.Log in to add notes

6Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.Log in to add notes

7But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.Log in to add notes

8And they took him, and killed him, and cast him out of the vineyard.Log in to add notes

9What shall therefore the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard unto others.Log in to add notes

10And have ye not read this scripture; The stone which the builders rejected is become the head of the corner:Log in to add notes

11This was the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?Log in to add notes

12And they sought to lay hold on him, but feared the people: for they knew that he had spoken the parable against them: and they left him, and went their way.Log in to add notes
