1For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:Log in to add notes

2But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.Log in to add notes

3For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:Log in to add notes

4But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.Log in to add notes

5For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:Log in to add notes

6Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.Log in to add notes

8So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.Log in to add notes

7Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.Log in to add notes

9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.Log in to add notes

33Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.Log in to add notes

37Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.Log in to add notes

39And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.Log in to add notes

12But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.Log in to add notes
