1And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,Log in to add notes

2He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.Log in to add notes

3And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.Log in to add notes

4Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.Log in to add notes

5When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.Log in to add notes

6And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.Log in to add notes

8And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.Log in to add notes

1Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;Log in to add notes

5Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead.Log in to add notes

6For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.Log in to add notes

7But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.Log in to add notes

8And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.Log in to add notes

9Use hospitality one to another without grudging.Log in to add notes

10As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.Log in to add notes

11If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.Log in to add notes

32And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.Log in to add notes

33And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.Log in to add notes

28And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all?Log in to add notes

29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:Log in to add notes

30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.Log in to add notes

31And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.Log in to add notes

32And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:Log in to add notes

33And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.Log in to add notes

34And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question.Log in to add notes

35And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David?Log in to add notes

36For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool.Log in to add notes

37David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he then his son? And the common people heard him gladly.Log in to add notes
