Epistle

Ephesians 1.7-17

Read in context

7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;Log in to add notes

8Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;Log in to add notes

9Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:Log in to add notes

10That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:Log in to add notes

11In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:Log in to add notes

12That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.Log in to add notes

13In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,Log in to add notes

14Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.Log in to add notes

15Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,Log in to add notes

16Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;Log in to add notes

17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:Log in to add notes

Epistle — Forerunner

Galatians 4.22-31

Read in context

22For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.Log in to add notes

23But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.Log in to add notes

24Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.Log in to add notes

25For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.Log in to add notes

26But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.Log in to add notes

27For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.Log in to add notes

28Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.Log in to add notes

29But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.Log in to add notes

30Nevertheless what saith the scripture? Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.Log in to add notes

31So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.Log in to add notes

Gospel

Luke 4.22-30

24And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.Log in to add notes

25But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;Log in to add notes

26But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.Log in to add notes

27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.Log in to add notes

28And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath,Log in to add notes

29And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.Log in to add notes

30But he passing through the midst of them went his way,Log in to add notes
