1Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called:Log in to add notes

2Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.Log in to add notes

3Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.Log in to add notes

4For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.Log in to add notes

5I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.Log in to add notes

6And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.Log in to add notes

7Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.Log in to add notes

8Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.Log in to add notes

9Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.Log in to add notes

10But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.Log in to add notes

Jude 1.11-16

Read in context

11Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.Log in to add notes

12These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;Log in to add notes

13Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.Log in to add notes

14And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,Log in to add notes

15To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.Log in to add notes

16These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.Log in to add notes

Vespers

Jude 1.17-25

Read in context

17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;Log in to add notes

18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.Log in to add notes

19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.Log in to add notes

20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,Log in to add notes

21Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.Log in to add notes

22And of some have compassion, making a difference:Log in to add notes

23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.Log in to add notes

24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,Log in to add notes

25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.Log in to add notes

Matins Gospel

John 21.15-25

16He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep.Log in to add notes

17He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.Log in to add notes

18Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.Log in to add notes

19This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.Log in to add notes

20Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?Log in to add notes

21Peter seeing him saith to Jesus, Lord, and what shall this man do?Log in to add notes

22Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.Log in to add notes

23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?Log in to add notes

24This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.Log in to add notes

25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.Log in to add notes

Epistle

1 Corinthians 2.9-3.8

Read in context

2:9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.Log in to add notes

2:10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.Log in to add notes

2:11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.Log in to add notes

2:12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.Log in to add notes

2:13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.Log in to add notes

2:14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.Log in to add notes

2:15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.Log in to add notes

2:16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.Log in to add notes

3:1And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.Log in to add notes

3:2I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.Log in to add notes

3:3For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?Log in to add notes

3:4For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?Log in to add notes

3:5Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?Log in to add notes

3:6I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.Log in to add notes

3:7So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.Log in to add notes

3:8Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.Log in to add notes
